Drama Blog Post

Today in Hurumanu 2 (Drama) we did some work on Freeze Frames. I have done blog posts about this many time so if you want to learn about freeze frames go onto my older posts.

The subject we had to do Freeze Frames on was a story called Bullies. It's about 4 boys who bully one student. We had to do 4 Freeze frames on parts of the story. The first Freeze Frame was about the boys waiting at a bus stop. The second Freeze Frame was about the boys planning who they were going to bully at the back of the bus. The third Freeze Frame was about the boys bullying the short kid with glasses. The fourth and final Freeze Frame was about the boys denying the accusations of the bullying.

Here is the first Freeze Frame.

The techniques used in this Freeze Frame are Levels, (People at different Heights)
Expressions, (What peoples face looks like) and Gestures. (What position people are in)
Eg. David is on the Ground, in a ball, staring off into space.

This is the second Freeze Frame.

The same techniques are used in this Freeze Frame too. Dylan is sitting on his knee deep in thought.

This is the third Freeze Frame

Reuben is standing up pointing at David and laughing.
Today we watched a video about being the Victim in a Bullying Scenario. It was made by a 12-year-old boy who was getting bullied in the video. Here is the link to the video.

We had to answer some questions about the video and imagine what our character would look like. Who am I? Here you must think of the 3 aspects of your character.

1. physically -age, gender, appearance. 12 years old, Boy, Brown hair, Brown eyes, tan skin.

2. Social - family, friends, job/role.   A younger sister, Mum, no dad. No friends. Does the Paper Run every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

3. Psychological - emotion, thoughts. When he gets bullied he asks himself "What did I do to deserve this?"

Chelsea Bremner

Today I read an article about one of my teachers Chelsea Bremner. She helped win the Farah Palmer Cup for Canterbury and has been chosen for the Possible and Probable Black Ferns Squad along with her sister Alana Bremner.

The Article was about girls getting into rugby and some of the Canterbury squad are teaching them.

The article made some really good points about Chelsea starting to play rugby because of her sister looking like she was having fun and how she picked the game up so quickly.

Chelsea started playing 4 years ago at Lincoln University for their team.

Thank you for reading my blog post.

Geometry DLO

Today My Buddy Adrian and I created a DLO about the things we have learnt in Geometry for this term so far. We had to explain the meaning, give an example, and provide a diagram. The reason for this DLO is to teach someone else a few things about Geometry. It didn't take very long but the final result has come out pretty good. The most challenging part was learning about it before we could put it in the DLO. Here is the DLO

Coastal Wolves DLO

Reuben and I have created a DLO about Coastal Wolves. We had to create this after Whaea Raewyn showed us a video that Paul Nicklen created about the Coastal Wolves. We had to do a lot of research and that was a little challenging but it was fun including a lot of facts in the DLO, but to make it more interesting we created a surprise at the end of the slide. Here is the DLO about the Coastal wolves.
