Hurumanu 1 Learning Story

Today in Hurumanu 6 (Healthy Lifestyles And Maths) we had to create a learning story. A learning story is like a diary of what you did for this Hurumanu (Subject) It doesn't take long to do but some things are a bit tricky because you have to remember what you did and depends how long ago you did it it's hard to remember back that far. Here is the learning story. Feel free to comment!

My Learning Story

Hurumanu: 1 Who are we

Name: Dylan

Teachers: Ds, Ht

Term

2020

Reflection:

Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.

What We Did:

  •  We did some research about Parihaka and how they did passive resistance.

  •  We created a DLO about WW1 and how things have changed since 1918

  • We created a blog post about the Gold Rush and how it impacted New Zealand.

What I Learned:

  •  I learned about in the 1800’s it took up to 30 seconds to take a photo.

  •  I learned about the impact WW1 had on New Zealanders and how it changed NZ forever.

  • I learned that in the 1860’s Gold Rush people from all over the globe came to New Zealand.

My Favourite Part:

  •  My absolute favourite part was creating the DLO about WW1 and creating the guns.

  •  I liked learning about the pacifists from Parihaka and creating the timeline about it.

  • I liked learning about the Gold Rush and how it impacted New Zealand.

My Next Steps:

  •  Maybe posting more about what we learned about and adding more facts.

  •  Creating a DLO about all of them combined and adding more detail.

  • Going deeper in my research and learning more about the stuff we’re learning about.

CARR Values:

Make a statement below describing how you showed each of our CARR values during this Hurumanu.

Commitment

Getting all of my work completed and it being quality work.

Achievement

Creating a timeline and completing it on time with only a few minutes left.

Resilience

Nearly giving up on my work because it’s hard and I was getting frustrated.

Respect

Helping David complete his work after I did.

Any other comments

I liked this hurumanu and learning about New Zealand’s history.
